Company History

Synergy Utility Billing LLC was founded in 2007 as a utility billing solution for the multifamily real estate community.

Our founding members had long managed a multifamily property in the Philadelphia area, and had grown frustrated with their outsourced read-bill-collect (RBC) firm. In particular, there was a lack of transparency, accountability and proactive strategy. As a result, the Synergy leadership team decided to move utility billing in-house.

With this valuable experience, we ultimately decided to launch a new kind of utility billing company. We would be focused on developing custom submetering and RUBS solutions, delivering white-glove service to multifamily property owners, portfolio managers and residents, and help solve even the most complex utility issues. We believe that an RBC should do far more than simply send bills and collect a monthly fee. We want to make managing and worrying about utility billing a thing of the past, while at the same time turning it into an attractive resident amenity – all to free up property managers to fully focus on their core duties.
